In Karrebæksminde or Enø (the southern side of the bridge) you have the choice between three marinas, two on the outer side and one on the starboard side onceyou have gone through the bridge and canal.
If you would like to go to the beach, or walk along the coast, the outer harbors are best, but for more peace and quiet the one inside on the lake is very suitable. If the weather is suited you can also throw an anchor in the lake, which is quite idyllic.
Apart from the beach there are a few stores to buy fresh fish, a good bakery and ice cream parlor too, as well as numerous restaurants.
The bridge opens hourly on the hour from sun up to sundown from May 1 until the 30th of September. There can be a strong current in the canal so be wary when entering. The tide does also influence the water depth in the harbour, so don’t let your kiel go digging.
Go, See and Do
If the weather is up to I’d go for a swim at the nearby beach. If you are feeling energetic, you can run along the coast to the southeast. Just follow the tracks going off Lungkyst and then Strandvej, continue along the cliff.
Buy some fresh or smoked fish or eat in at one of the fish stores on the Karrebæk side of the bridge. On the Enø side just down froth bridge is the bakery and the ice cream parlor. A little further along the canal and a bit quieter is the Fiskehuset Enø, for simple but good fish dishes. Might depend on where the sun is as to which side you end up choosing.
