Missunde is at the narrowest point of the Schlei Fjord, just to the east of the widest part that leads to Schleswig. It is a humble spot but quite attractive if you aren’t needing too much excitement. It definitely gives you a great impression of typical life along the Schlei fjord.
The marina stretches along the banks of the Schlei, giving everybody a great view of boats, birds and other passersby. You can enjoy the natural surroundings and also have the chance to wander over to the nearby Fährhaus to quench your thirst or satisfy your appetite no questions asked.
Go, See and Do:
Enjoy a meal at the Missunde Fährhaus, only a short walk to the south of the marina, overlooking the ferry crossing the Schlei.
You can go for a comfortable walk along a path that begins at the car park across from the Fährhaus. A narrow track will take you to Margaretenwall, then follow Strandweg. It will take you over the fields to the beach facing the larger lake. You can return the same way, or continue along Strandweg until Westerfelderweg and then turn right after about 500m along a narrow path leading to the church, then right again on to the Missunde Fährstrasse which will take you back to the Fährhaus. If it is warm, take you swimming things with you for a dip half way.
